It's the driest summer on record. Wells on the 7th Line dry up. Walt and Maggie try desperately to locate water, but distractions abound: a high-tech cattle round-up, a battle with ground bees, a feud with a red-tailed hawk, an eccentric line-up of water witches and a well-driller who's only too happy to perforate the ground at forty dollars a foot! Is it the end of farming in Persephone, or can the precious liquid be found?
