Theatre Orangeville is taking steps to make its Christmas production more accessible to a wider audience.
The local theatre company will offer what’s called a relaxed performance on Dec. 19 of The Last Christmas Turkey, The Musical, at the Town Hall Opera House. A relaxed performance is open to everyone but intended to be sensitive to and accepting of anyone who may find the theatre environment challenging for any reason, including a health condition or disability, or fear of the dark, loud noises or confined spaces.
This is the first time Theatre Orangeville will offer this type of performance. It will enable families that may not normally be able to take in a performance to enjoy the theatre together, said David Nairn, the company’s artistic director.
