Sexy Laundry Review - Guest Blog by Jen Abra

Date Posted: 02/05/2017

"Sexy Laundry is a raucous frolic between the sheets where fantasies of the hilarious kind are uncovered.  We meet likeable Henry and Alice Lane, a fifty-something married couple who venture out of their comfort zones and their uninspiring bedroom, in hopes of spicing up their sex life. The audience instantly takes on the role of a fly on the wall, eavesdropping on the couple’s deepest desires and arguments, both about sex and marriage.  Henry just wants to watch the news and make his wife proud.  Alice wants to feel alive and appreciated.  Put the two together in a secluded getaway and the comedy, emotion and laughter ensues.

Alice, played by Debbie Collins, is a disenchanted wife who senses she has lost her true self and portrays her in an exceptionally raw and relatable manner. Henry, played by Terry Barna, does an exceptional job of portraying a loveable aging man who has forgotten how to dance. He candidly (yet unknowingly) reveals the powerful truth of his feelings and discovers the definition of loving a woman.  This accurate portrayal of marriage is genuine and will pull at your heart strings. It’s a rollercoaster of emotion as we bear witness to this couple’s private struggles and share intimate moments normally hidden behind closed doors.

Sexy Laundry poses the question, “Who am I?” Can we pull back the layers our “dirty” laundry to reveal the truth about sex and love OR is doing is the laundry what keeps us together."   Guest Blog - Jen Abra
